I like to keep a bag of frozen unbaked biscuits in my freezer to have on hand whenever I need a quick and easy dessert. Although I frequently make my own whipped cream, there are times that’s not possible. Fortunately, many of the canned whipped creams in the market are very good substitutes, and they last a long time in the fridge.
STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKES
- 1 quart ripe strawberries ~ 4 cups
- white sugar
- 1 lemon
- 6 frozen buttermilk biscuits ~ unbaked
- Half & Half or heavy cream
- coarse sugar
- canned whipped cream or homemade
