Strawberry Shortcakes ~ Shopping List

I like to keep a bag of frozen unbaked biscuits in my freezer to have on hand whenever I need a quick and easy dessert. Although I frequently make my own whipped cream, there are times that’s not possible. Fortunately, many of the canned whipped creams in the market are very good substitutes, and they last a long time in the fridge.


  • 1 quart ripe strawberries ~ 4 cups
  • white sugar
  • 1 lemon
  • 6 frozen buttermilk biscuits ~ unbaked
  • Half & Half or heavy cream
  • coarse sugar
  • canned whipped cream or homemade
